“Double” December Featured Event: The Lighted Boat Parade in Sausalito and Oakland/Alameda

On Saturday December 5, 2015, the city of Oakland and Alameda will be hosting their 39th annual lighted boat parade, Deck the Hulls, at the Encinel Yacht club in Alameda beginning at 5:30PM. On Saturday December 12, 2015, the city of Sausalito will be hosting their 28th annual lighted boat parade on the waters of downtown Sausalito. The event is a family friendly, featuring live music, great food, and fun entertainment for all ages. The boat parade begins at 6PM, and there will be a tent in front of The Spinnaker serving drinks and playing live music. Be sure to stick around for the fireworks show afterwards, which begins at 7:30PM. Be sure to arrive at the event early, as the downtown area tends to have high volumes of traffic during holiday events. An insider tip for this event is to book reservations to one of the waterfront restaurants in the Caledonia area, to enjoy great local food and stay warm. Adventure of the Month: Lighted Boat Parade in Sausalito and San Rafael

This month for the holiday season there is so much to do in the SF Bay Area. And what better way to see these events, than to travel in your own vessel and get a front row view of all the action. On Saturday December 4th, Saturday December 12th and the following Saturday December 19th enjoy family fun events on the water in Oakland/Alameda, Sausalito and San Rafael. On December 4th, head over to the Oakland estuary to see the 39th Annual Deck the Hulls Lighted Boat Parade, starting at 5:30PM. On December 12th, head out early, to catch the parade which begins at 6PM in Sausalito, with a fireworks show to follow at 7:30PM. Then the following Saturday December 19th, head out to San Rafael to join the community in their annual boat parade which crosses the San Rafael canal. The event starts at 5:30PM, but be sure to get their early to grab a great place to watch the show. Both events will be a great time to celebrate the holiday season, and will be amazing on the water.
